As a way to spotlight the success stories of our students, teachers, staff, and administrators, we have created our newest publication We are GCSS. We are GCSS will be released each month by the Office of Communications. The best part about We are GCSS…the success stories are not limited to the walls of our classrooms or buildings…they include life changing accomplishments that impact and shape our daily lives.

In light of recent news stories regarding the safety and authenticity of solar eclipse glasses, we have decided not to distribute glasses to students and staff on Aug. 21 to view the solar eclipse. We will still, however, delay dismissal by 30 minutes for all students because the eclipse will occur around 2:40 p.m., which is around our normal time of dismissal for some schools.
In lieu of going outside to view the eclipse, teachers will lead instructional activities centered about this occurrence. Please remind your child that while they will be in a well-lit classroom, it will still appear like evening or nightfall outside.
